Ring Abstract

Follow Steps #1 -4 Before Starting Design Choice

Gather Your Choice Of Premixed Paint Colors, Ring, String, 24 Inch Chain, Scissors, Rod, Metal Shovel Blotter And Fine Line Paint Brush


  • Cut eight strings 24-inches in length

  • Use the 24-inch chain provided in the kit as a guide for measuring and cutting the string

  • Using 4 of the strings, place one string at a time on top of the prepared canvas following the S pattern 

  • Starting with your first color choice gently and slowly squeeze the applicator bottle using the applicator tip for direct placement of the first set of paint color drops

  • Starting 1-inch from the top of all 4 strings place a drop of your first paint color 

  • Place 1-inch from the bottom of all 4 strings place a drop of your first paint color

  • Next in the curves of the S of all 4 strings place a drop of your first paint color


  • Using your second color choice gently and slowly squeeze the applicator bottle using the applicator tip for direct placement of the second set of paint color drops 

  • Placing the second set of paint color drops next to all of the first set of paint color drops, building a color pattern, and placing them side by side 


  • Using your third color choice gently and slowly squeeze the applicator bottle using the  applicator tip for direct placement of the third set of paint color drops 

  • Placing the third set of paint color drops next to the second set of paint color drops building a color pattern, and placing them side by side


  • Using the fourth color choice gently and slowly squeeze the applicator bottle using the applicator tip for direct placement of the fourth set of paint color drops

  • Placing the fourth set of paint color drops next to the third set of paint color drops building a color pattern, and placing them side by side


Pulling The Strings Through The Ring To Pull The Paint


  • Gently and slowly one at a time pick up the ends of all 4 strings in the middle of the canvas 

  • Gently and slowly place all 4 ends of the string through the ring without disturbing the design

  • Keeping ahold of the strings Gently and slowly pull all 4 strings up through the ring at the same time holding the ring in the center, very still and just above the canvas as you pull the paint 

  • Place the strings into the bucket of water until ready for cleanup

  • Place the ring to the side for the next pull

  • Use the metal shovel blotter to remove excess paint by tapping lightly where the paint has gathered in the center and wipe off on a paper towel as needed set aside for next step


Repeating The Same Process With The Last 4 Strings


  • To complete the abstract repeat the same process with the last 4 strings

  • Place the 4 strings following the S shape pattern as shown below

  • Be careful not to disturb the first pulled design


Repeat The Same Process Until All 4 Paint Color Drops Are Done


  • Starting with your first color choice gently and slowly squeeze the applicator bottle using the applicator tip for direct placement of the first set of paint color drops

  • Starting 1-inch from the top of all 4 strings place a drop of your first paint color 

  • Next 1-inch from the bottom of all 4 strings place a drop of your first paint color

  • Next in the curve of the S of all 4 strings place a drop of your first paint color


  • Using your second color choice gently and slowly squeeze the applicator bottle using the applicator tip for direct placement of the second set of paint color drops 

  • Placing the second set of paint color drops next to all of the first set of paint color drops, building a color pattern, and placing them side by side 


  • Using your third color choice gently and slowly squeeze the applicator bottle using the  applicator tip for direct placement of the third set of paint color drops 

  • Placing the third set of paint color drops next to the second set of paint color drops building a color pattern, and placing them side by side as shown below


  • Using the fourth color choice gently and slowly squeeze the applicator bottle using the applicator tip for direct placement of the fourth set of paint color drops

  • Placing the fourth set of paint color drops next to the third set of paint color drops building a color pattern, and placing them side by side as shown below


Pulling The Strings Through The Ring to Pull The Paint


  • Repeat the same process with all 4 strings

  • Place the ring and metal shovel blotter, into the bucket of water until ready for cleanup


Finalize The Design


  • Using the very tip of the rod, pull through the tips of each design to give it a whimsical finish

  • Place the tip of the rod  into the bucket of water until ready for cleanup

FOR BEST RESULTS LET YOUR PAINTING SIT FOR 48 HOURS OR UNTIL COMPLETELY DRY
