Set up a work area at the workspace to include:
Depending on the design choice and technique, choose the art tool that is needed to pull the paint : Beads, Chains, Strings, Teardrop Sponge, Balloons, Marble, Ring, Rod, Plastic Sheet
Choose up to 16 colors
Choose your acrylic gloss paint colors for the background and design choice
Applicator Bottles
Paint Brushes
Palette Knife
Sponge Paint Brush
Metal Straw
Measuring Scoop
Metal Shovel Blotter
Bucket filled 3/4 full of water
Plastic Baggies
Rubber Bands
Gloves
Plastic Liner for applying paint onto Art Tools
Scissors
Paper Towels
Blow dryer if available
Prepare 7 Strands of Plastic Beads
All seven strands of beads need to be prepped before using
Find the place where the beads are fused together
Make a cut at the fused bead to open the strand of beads to pull the paint
Cut the two fused beads off the strand, they have sharp edges and will leave a mark when you pull the paint
All 7 strands of beads are 30 inches, Cut 3 of the strands in half, resulting in 4 strands of 30 inches and 6 strands of 15 inches
Note: Some strands of beads might already be cut, if so the only thing needed is to cut the fused bead off
Prepare Acrylic Gloss Paint Colors for the Pulling Paint Technique
For best results let paint sit after prepping to help with air bubbles that will form after shaking
Prep for 2-ounce Acrylic Gloss Paints
For the pulling paint technique, the paint needs to be thinned down
with water
Choose the paint colors for the background and design
Empty the first color choice of paint into an applicator bottle
After emptying the 2-ounce bottle of paint color into an applicator bottle, fill the emptied paint bottle with 1 Scoop of water from the bucket filled with clean water to help retrieve any leftover paint in the bottle, place the cap back on and shake well
Empty the paint bottle filled with the scoop of water and leftover paint mixture into the applicator bottle that is already filled with 2 ounces of the paint color choice
Place the cap back on ensure the cap and applicator tip are closed tightly, and shake well
This process will create a formula for the pulling paint technique
Repeat the process for each color choice
Prep for 8-ounce Black & White Acrylic Gloss Paints
Fill a 4-ounce applicator bottle halfway ( 2 ounces ) with either the black or white color choice
Add 1 Scoop of water from bucket filled with clean water
Place the cap back on ensure the cap and applicator tip are closed tightly, and shake well
This process will create a formula for the pulling paint technique
Repeat the process for every 2-ounces of black or white color
